Business Development Manager (Software)

VANRATH Sales & Marketing are currently recruiting a talented Business Development Manager for a leading learning software provider, based in the Greater Belfast area.

In this new role, created through company growth, the Business Development Manager will work alongside a team of Account Managers, Marketing and the entire customer delivery department to deliver customer success and new business wins.

The successful candidate will be responsible for customer acquisition and will respond to new business enquiries, lead generation and the delivery of targeted campaigns. By understanding customer requirements, they will effectively present the ability to meet these by demonstrating and presenting our value proposition.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and convert new business opportunities with new and existing customers
  • Research and generate prospects in line with the company sales plan
  • Generate customer leads and the delivery of targeted campaigns to create opportunities
  • Understanding customer requirements and presenting the company value proposition to meet the customer’s needs effectively.
  • Build and manage a sales pipeline – reporting regularly on your individual sales forecast
  • Become a brand ambassador and represent the company at events and exhibitions
  • Capture and maintain accurate customer data within Salesforce
  • Work collaboratively with Account Managers and Marketing on a daily basis, and the wider Customer Success Circle.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • 3+ years proven experience consistently achieving sales figures in a Software/ technologies sales capacity
  • Degree in a business/ marketing/ IT related subject – desirable
  • Strong rapport building skills
  • Ability to collaborate across departments to project manage clients expectations
  • A self-starter with a thirst for knowledge of Learning Management Systems or web applications
  • Highly disciplined with strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong communicator at all levels, with an ability to present to decision makers
  • Candidate must be willing to travel within the UK to meet with customers
