MCS are Delighted to be working with a leading software company as the expand their Build and Release Team here in Belfast. This DevOps Engineer will join a team that has been recognised within the DevOps community as being experts in their field.

MCS are Delighted to be working with a leading software company as the expand their Build and Release Team here in Belfast. This DevOps Engineer will join a team that has been recognised within the DevOps community as being experts in their field and work on software applications used in the global health industry. Working within he Build and Release team, this DevOps Engineer will be working collaboratively with developers in order to ensure that all aspects of the software lifecycle are being delivered to the highest of standards.

The Company

My client is an evidence-based, personalized healthcare company enabling improved patient care. Thier adaptive product continuously improves decision-making and optimizes clinical pathways and decision algorithms. The Build and Realease team encourage a supportive and open environment, and meet every morning to discuss what they are doing and open the florr to advice and solutions from other team members. Although there is this aspect of collaboration, the culture is independent with a lot of trust on team members to work how they feel will allow them to achieve their best,.

The Role

You will be

  • Responsible for the functionality, availability, and reliability of the build and release processes and inventory.
  • Design and write re-usable, and maintainable software code.
  • Planning and delivering systems maintenance with as little disruption as possible
  • Plan, coordinate and carry out systems maintenance to ensure minimal impact.
  • Automate the CI/CD pipeline
  • Mentoring and training for junior colleagues

The Person

You will have:

  • Strong scripting experience in whichever language you choose. Ruby, Python, Powershell or Bash would be advantageous but not compulsory
  • Strong knowledge of delivery pipeline from source to development
  • Knowlegde of source control best practice
  • Working knowledge of package and dependency management tools and deployment/configuration methodologies
  • Experience with/knowledge of Continuous Integration tools
  • Experience working with CI/CD processes in an Agile or Lean development environment.
