This is a fantastic opportunity to join us during a time of growth. We are currently looking to fill the role of Assistant Accountant to support our expanding Finance team. This role will involve working with our associate companies.

  

Alternative Heat Ltd specializes in the design, supply, Installation and maintenance of a wide range of commercial heating solutions throughout the UK & Ireland. We specialise in offsite fabrication and supply a wide range of skid mounted and containerised, commercial energy centres for the oil, gas and renewable industry.

 

We offer a range of renewable solutions including biomass boilers, ground and air source heat pumps, solar thermal and underfloor heating for the commercial sector throughout the UK & Ireland.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Job Title:         Assistant Accountant

Contract:        Temporary 9 Months (Maternity Cover)

Department:  Finance

Reporting to:  Accountant, Finance Manager

Location:        Head Office, Banbridge

Salary:             Negotiable depending on experience

Closing Date:  5.00 pm on the 19th October 2018

Scope of Role: This is a key role in the provision of management and financial information for Alternative Heat and Associate Companies. You will work closely with the accountant and the finance manager in the delivery of a varied portfolio of work. Full in-house training will be given.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for daily bank administration including bank reconciliations for company bank accounts and cash flow forecasting

  • Administration of PAYE / CIS including returns.

  • Administration of VAT including returns.

  • Monthly management accounts preparation to Trial Balance including full reconciliation of all Balance Sheet accounts

  • Financial Accounting activity including journal entries, Profit and Loss Account reconciliations and financial analysis

  • Preparation of monthly sales reports and customer profitability analysis

  • Assist in procedure development and recommend / implement process improvements

  • Preparation of government statistical returns

  • Budget administration

  • Development of company templates using advanced MS Excel formulae

  • Any other duties required to fulfil the requirements of the position.
