The role:

We require highly skilled, motivated and driven individuals to join our Abattoir. The role will centre around achieving high levels of hygiene, food safety, quality and health and safety whilst achieving daily yields and department KPI’s.

Your duties will include:

  • Operating in the Abattoir where required
  • Safe operation of all equipment and ensuring proper use of PPE/equipment
  • Maintain health, safety, hygiene and food quality standards in accordance with Company rules
  • Undertaking skilled, semi-skilled and non-skilled jobs associated with the slaughter, dressing and evisceration of pigs
  • Report to the Slaughter Hall Manager/Senior Team Leader throughout the shift and ensuring that all work adheres to correct standards
  • Assist with loading of lorries ready for despatch
  • Work as part of a team to meet production demands and satisfy customer requirements
  • Achieving production targets/yields on a daily basis
  • Maintain and promote high standards and quality of work
  • Ensure that company policies and procedures and health and safety practices are followed.
  • To always act in the best interest of Cranswick Country Foods.
  • The ideal candidate will possess the following skills / qualifications / attributes: – 

Essential Criteria:

  • Knowledge and understanding of Quality, Hygiene and Health & Safety requirements
  • Excellent communication and team working skills
  • Must be fully flexible to meet operational requirements
  • Highly motivated and have the ability to perform in a highly challenging, expanding and pressurised environment

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience of working in an abattoir or have butchery experience
  • Experience of using butchery tools
  • Experience working within the food industry

Hours of work:

40hrs per week, 7.30am to 4pm Monday to Friday.  However please note flexibility may be required to suit operational requirements.
