Salary: 24K Per Annum Depending on Experience

Hours: 40 hours/week

We install and manage fully hosted and IP PBX IP Telephony Solutions to the B2B market, and are now looking for a VOIP Engineer to join our team at our HQ in Belfast.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete VOIP and SIP installations for new and existing clients
  • Install, terminate and test Cat5e, Cat6  and coax structured cabling in preparation for VOIP and SIP Installations
  • Conducting pre-sales site surveys, taking photos and recording site details, documenting and assisting to create design documents
  • Configure a wide range of broadband routers including port forwarding and VPN configs for new installations.
  • Work closely with both our customers and Operations Team providing consistent, positive, professional and timely responses to queries and issues raised by existing Simplicity Group customers.
  • Be responsible for handling existing customer issues received via customers and the Operations Team, via email and attending customer site to diagnose the issue further.
  • You will carry out routine servicing and preventative maintenance activities, as well as performing fault diagnostics using our highly-advanced diagnostics systems.
  • Providing a professional, personable service, you’ll also provide equipment training and technical support for customers  both at customers premises or from our state of the art new office in Belfast,
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic, as a VOIP Engineer you must be able to work well, both independently and as part of a team. You must also have good relationship-building skills and a logical approach to problem-solving.

Essential Criteria

At least 2 years’ experience –

  • Installing, terminating, testing and fault finding of CAT5/6, coax cabling
  • The configuration of a wide range of routers including port forwarding and VPN configurations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.

A background in structured cabling and competent with installing external microwave links.

Exceptional troubleshooting skills

Ability to communicate confidently with customers and train them on the features of our systems once training has been completed.

Completes own role independently or with minimal supervision/guidance.
