 Job Description

Business Intelligence Developer/Analyst opportunity for a confident candidate to develop into a BI lead.

Business Intelligence Developer/Analyst opportunity for a confident candidate to develop into a BI lead.

Your new company
You’ll work for a company that are one of the top performing organisations in the production sector. They have developed a range of unique products and rely heavily on data analytics to offer unique insights to their customers through Business Intelligence and create internal data models to shape their own business. Hays have always had a strong relationship with the on-site team and now the technology team has steadily grown to 5 who specialise in different IT operational areas.

Your new role
This new position will allow you the opportunity to either get to grips with, or, develop your BI experience within the Microsoft Data stack using Power BI and other tools integrated within MS SQL Server such as SSRS, Excel and VBA. Your purpose will be to drive the best information out of existing company data and, through exciting projects, onboard with new tools that will allow access to hidden customer and departmental data that could make a major impact on key decisions made within the business. You’ll immediately gain the support of the Head of IT and company directors who are hugely invested in the opportunities that can exposed through data.

What you’ll need to succeed
Your success in the role will hinge on your ability to use your existing technical BI/data analysis skills to uncover useful data and manipulate it in such a way that internal/external users can work with it. You’ll be strong with numbers but equally as important will be your ability to collaborate with people within a commercial environment that may not necessarily understand your role or how you can help them. As an inherent characteristic you’ll be driven to solve problems and data will be your tool to do this. Things that will help your application stand out will be a degree or formal qualification in IT/Mathematics/Finance and previous experience in a similar BI or data analysis role. This isn’t necessarily essential and the shortlist will be built on character over credentials.

What you’ll get in return
Your new job will provide you with the platform to further your business intelligence/data analysis career whilst giving you tremendous satisfaction in being directly involved in solving a range of business problems at the coal face. In our experience it will be your commercial skills that will take you from a ‘good’ developer to a ‘great developer’. Your starting salary will be attractive in nature with clear, defined steps on how you can build your earnings and there’ll be a wider package on offer for you that encompasses company pension, flexible hours and plenty more.
