The Trade Processing Service (TPS) team within Citi Belfast are actively looking for talented senior engineers / technical project managers to join us and lead in our global team.
We are looking for someone with
strong project management and people skills, with a highly technical base
high level development skills with a desire to technically lead and drive the direction of architecturally challenging projects
If you think this fits your description, please read on!
TPS is Citi’s premier Derivatives, Cash and Exotics trading platform with 180 talented engineers working on an application that is used in London, New York, Mexico, Rio, Singapore, Frankfurt, Singapore, Tokyo, Mumbai and Sydney. Citi rules the market in these trading areas and it’s lead it is growing, so we need to grow with it. The BELFAST team are the technical leaders and drivers of this application and WE are literally critical to a multibillion pound industry.
The numbers flowing across TPS servers are pretty staggering, with trades worth billions each moving across our platform on a minute by minute basis. With this in mind we need high levels of engineering excellence, if we go down or make mistakes the financial and regulatory consequences are eye wateringly large. We have made great progress in this area but are continually working on improvements. From the very top of Citi there is a huge focus on stability and engineering quality.
The tech stack within TPS is currently solid, featuring Java 8, Spring and Oracle, but we aren’t sitting still, we are rapidly moving forward. We send engineers to conferences such as QCon in London with the aim of bringing back new ideas and new directions. Projects incorporating Microservices, cloud hosting of our servers, Elastic Search, functional programming and massive adoption of APIs are all currently underway. More initiatives are following.
We all know Citi does have a bit of a staid reputation in Belfast. We would like to challenge that. There aren’t too many alternative roles around where YOU, not overlords in Boston, Chicago or San Francisco etc can own the decision, drive the technical directions on a worldwide team, with support from the very highest level. We are aiming to grow our team, add pure technical expertise and team leaders who still have a great handle on the latest tech. So if you want to grow your career, work on full stack projects, learn about how to take an existing system and put it on the cloud using kubernetes and docker, this is the place to be. If you want a an agile development environment where devops is practised not just preached, CI rules, hackathons are a regular occurrence and product quality is taken seriously by the technologists all the way up to the clients, this is the place to be. Interested?
