Position Summary

Main job functions (Note: In addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required and deemed within their capability.)

You will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the Production department for Bawnbua Foods. This is a senior position reporting to the Managing Director and working in conjunction with colleagues across planning, supply chain, technical, innovation and commercial.

Main Duties

Duties/responsibilities

  • Leadership of production department of 180 staff, with responsibility to ensure production KPI’s are achieved
  • Development and management of shift production managers and production line teams
  • Responsibility for achievement of product quality KPI’s
  • Responsibility for ensuring products are produced to agreed specifications
  • Responsibility for ensuring factory meets technical standards set by the business
  • Work effectively with other departments to achieve overall business objectives
  • Implement & support the continuous improvement culture within the business
  • Develop positive working relationships within the production department and across departments
  • Lead profit improvement & waste reduction projects within the production environment
  • Effectively report to senior management / Board and to positively influence Bawnbua ongoing growth

Skills, Qualifications, Competence Level

Experience required

Essential:

  • 3 years+ production management experience

Desirable:

  • Experience within the Agri-Food Industry
  • Experience within an FMCG environment
  • Experience working with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement     

Qualifications required

Desirable:

  • 3rd Level Qualification or equivalent      
  • Particular aptitude/skill required

Essential:

  • Ability to take decisions
  • Resourceful and positive
  • Proven ability to positively lead a team to achieve set objectives
  • Ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels throughout the business
  • IT Literate

Desirable:

  • Numerate, with an understanding of accounts and cost accounting
  • Good knowledge of food & food trends
  • Experience of working to BRC Accreditations and similar
  • Experience of speaking directly with customers
