A Top Tier Design & Build Contractor wishes has an opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join their International Division. Based in the Netherlands on a multi-million Industrial Project, you will be provided with accommodation & flights home regularly.

A Top Tier Design & Build Contractor wishes has an opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join their International Division.

 

Based in the Netherlands on a multi-million Industrial Project, you will be provided with accommodation & flights home regularly.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

    • To manage the commercial resources (finance) of the assigned project (or section) to maximise planned gross margin through the placement and control of contracts and subcontracts.
    • To assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks and implement the company’s policies for risk management.
    • To support the authorisation and submission of project variations. To authorise the placement of contracts, subcontracts, material and plant orders.
    • To maximise cash flow through the control, measurement (including quality) and valuation of work, and the invoicing of customers and payment of suppliers.
    • To implement all of the company’s policies including those for SHE and risk management.
    • To promote the company’s values towards its customers in order to meet or exceed their expectations
    • To participate and advise the impact of variations/design cost control/value engineering
    • To participate and advise on programme/delay issues arising from change/variation and to prepare claims for extensions of time;
    • To prepare, negotiate and settle final accounts;
    • To participate or lead in Project Meetings

To be successful in this role, you will have the following credentials:

 

    • 2-5 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying (preferably within a main contractor).
    • Degree in Quantity Surveying
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise with multiple project stake holders.
    • Extensive experience of working on live projects and concluding final accounts;
    • Successfully completed a number of final accounts;
    • Experience of procuring major works sub contracts;
    • Experience of working on projects in excess of £5m+
    • Experience of working on new-build projects
