 Job Description

Translink require a Quantity Surveyor to be responsible for providing cost and contract management services to support construction project planning and delivery. Location: Belfast Closing date is by close of business Friday 31st August.

As Translinks new Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for providing cost and contract management services to support construction project planning and delivery. Translink’s capital portfolio contains over 200 live projects with an annual spend in excess of £200m. The Quantity Surveyor role will include cost estimating, preparation of tender documentation, cost / value management, contract management and performance measurement.

As the successful candidate your new role will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Develop and maintain templates for construction works and services procurement and contract management
  • Advise and assist project teams with development of project procurement and contracting strategies
  • Prepare and assure budget cost estimates and whole life costs to support project options development throughout project stages
  • Assure tender documents for construction works and services contracts
  • Support project teams in managing cost / value and resolution of contractual disputes
  • Undertake sufficient checking and auditing to provide assurance on compliance with approved cost, value and contract management systems and procedures

To be considered for this role you will have A minimum of a Quantity Surveying or other relevant Construction Management Degree

Essential experience should include the following:

  • Cost estimation, planning and management
  • Preparing tender/ contract documents for major construction work
  • Pricing or tender cost analysis
  • Measurement and valuation of works
  • Contract management and administration
  • Building and civil engineering contracts
  • Valuation, certification and dispute resolution
  • Desirable experience would include experience of Risk/Value & Dispute management, NEC3 contracts and Railway Infrastructure costs.
