Quality engineer (Lisburn)

Key to their success is the advancement of their people, and this is a newly created position in support of the Quality Manager.

Your new role
The position has been created following the promotion of a member of the team. You’ll, report to the Quality manager, and will support the business through the completion of quality assurance processes through all levels from manufacturing to distribution and delivery, ensuring that all manufactured products meet company and customer quality expectations. Your job will be to take responsibility for the Quality process from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:
Carry out random checks on manufactured product quality & coach Operations Staff in QC techniques.
inspection and testing of materials supplied by other companies.
Preparation of PPAP submission packages & associated auditing.
Deal with all aspects of customer complaints and ensure resolution & close-out in a timely manner
Lead team based root cause investigations regarding non-conforming products & deliveries and implement solution & process change as required.
Prepare product specification documentation and manage issue control
Ensure approved test gauges & customer approved sample products are available for Production Personnel.
Liaise with customers, suppliers, sub-contractors and internal staff.
Report breaches of quality assurance procedures and quarantine product if appropriate.
Provide timely and accurate information to our Production Department, Customer Services Department or directly to our customer.
Establish and report on targets and KPIs to demonstrate quality control to Senior Management.
Maintain contact and relationships with clients to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

What you’ll need to succeed
We are looking for an experienced Quality assurance professional with a strong knowledge in the manufacturing environment, preferably to the construction and manufacturing industries. Experience in working with plastics, joinery products or the automotive industry would be advantageous.

Essential requirements:
Quality auditing experience and knowledge of ISO 9001
Familiarity with drawings and product specification documents
Flexible and adaptable approach to work as part of a small team
Prepared to travel abroad and stay away from home if required.
Desirable
APQP experience
Experience in a Lean manufacturing environment
