Job: Purchase Ledger Clerk

You will assist in the maintenance of our clients Purchase Ledger ensuring information is both received in a timely manner and is complete and accurate with authorised payments made to suppliers within agreed time frame.

Reporting to the company accountant your responsibilities are as follows:

  • Maintain accounts payable ledger, ensuring all invoices have received appropriate approval and invoices paid within their credit terms
  • Processing supplier BACS and cheque payments in accordance with agreed supplier terms
  • Recording direct debit payments to supplier accounts from bank statement
  • Cash book postings
  • Creditor statement reconciliations
  • Opening new accounts for new suppliers
  • Other ad hoc duties as and when required


  • Experience in an Administrative/Accounts Payable role
  • GCSE level / A Level education or equivalent
  • Good numerical skills and strong attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
