Project Manager required by a large Housing Body to work on a temporary contract in Newtownards.
Your new company
The services of Hays have been retained by our client, a large Affordable Housing Body, to recruit a Project Manager on a temporary contract basis to work from their offices in Newtownards.
Your new role
Working within the existing team, you will assist the Senior Project Manager in designing and managing onsite major Adaptations in line with the occupational therapists recommendations. The main duties of the role will include:
Ensuring all major adaptations are carried out in accordance with the requirements of the CDM Regulations 2016;
Carry out whole house surveys including drainage and site levels to facilitate the construction of adaptations;
Brief consultants and contractors, negotiate appointments and ensure that the Major Adaptation is delivered on time and within budget;
Drawing up realistic timetables and ensuring projects meet time targets without compromising quality;
To produce, record and monitor performance reports to ensure Key Performance Indicators are achieved;
Provide regular progress reports on the performance of projects to the Senior Project Manager.
What you’ll need to succeed
The successful candidate should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture/Building Surveying or a relevant Building or Engineering related discipline plus two years relevant experience.
A relevant BTEC Higher Cert/Diploma or qualification of an equivalent academic level plus 3 years’ relevant experience in Building / Construction / Technical Discipline.
To be considered you should possess experience in project managing construction contracts;
Experience in the development of Major Adaptations in line with occupational therapists recommendations;
Working knowledge of NEC 3 contracts;
Responsibility for designated budgets and ensuring proper financial controls are in place and that staff comply accordingly with planned delivery contracts;
Experience of using AutoCad or other drawing packages in the development of full working drawings.
What you’ll get in return
This position offers an immediate start and the opportunity to work with a large Housing Body based in Newtownards on a temporary contract basis. You will be paid on a weekly basis via BACS transfer through Hays with mileage expenses being reimbursed with the annual holiday entitlement amounting to 33 days.
