PRODUCTION TEAM LEADER/ SUPERVISOR

Our client, a long established Engineering and Manufacturing Company, known for their highly engineered products now wish to recruit a Production Team Lead/ Supervisor.

We are looking for a professional with experience of leading a large team working in a diverse engineering environment. Ideally your experience will include Lean Manufacturing, six sigma or similar. We are looking for a professional who has a clear focus on quality, cost, time and process improvement. A person who is a good manager of people and operations.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Managing Director you will be responsible for managing all aspects of scheduling, assembly, purchasing, design and associated logistical operations regarding the flow of raw materials and supplies into the facility, as well as the flow of product from the facility in a total quality environment.

Essential responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:

  • Managing the operations of the department and driving a continuous improvement culture.
  • Production planning and scheduling.
  • Supervision of Departmental Personnel.
  • Timely completion of production batches and associated documentation.
  • Creating, revising and maintaining departmental Standard Order Processing.
  • Identifying ways to improve processes, increase operational efficiencies and lower the costs associated with Manufacturing.
  • Coordinating the maintenance, calibration and upgrading of departmental equipment and facilities.
  • Complying with established Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Maintaining the safety of all processes and operations, as well as the compliance with all established safety Standards.
  • Managing the performance and development of staff as well as the retention, direction and engagement of the staff to meet immediate and future business needs.

THE PERSON

You will have all of the experiences outlined above and as a minimum we would expect the following:

  • You will have a minimum of 5 years managing a team in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • You will have strong experience working with Quality standards in a production led environment. 
  • You will be confident, articulate and a good communicator with the ability to motivate and lead teams.
  • You will be personally motivated to offer a high level of service to meet customer requirements
  • You will be process driven with strong systems and I.T. literacy.
  • You will have experience of process improvement systems such as Lean, Six Sigma or similar.
