This role holder has lead responsibility for the entire Belfast site. They will play a key part in planning and developing the future direction of the Beer Packaging operations.

About the Role
Diageo’s vision creates a powerful mandate of Continuous Improvement and Manufacturing Excellence to achieve World Class performance. Guinness is an iconic brand, and is one of Diageo’s global priority brands.
As part of the International Supply Centre, there are two beer packaging sites, Runcorn and Belfast, collectively they manufactured 39.5m actual cases last year. Alongside Guinness, we package Hop House and many of the Open Gate Brewery brands. We also manufacture Budweiser, Carlsberg, Fosters and Beamish under licence.
The Belfast Beer Packaging site produces c.16 million cases. The site has strong ambitions to be the best performing site in Diageo and has a fantastic culture around manufacturing excellence.
This role holder has lead responsibility for the entire Belfast site. They will play a key part in planning and developing the future direction of the Beer Packaging operations.
Top Accountabilities
You will show personal commitment to H & S, and drive improvement in the safety culture across the production team and ensure H&S is the number 1 priority in all aspects of the site. As the leader of the site you will drive a strategy to improve all aspects of H&S
The production Manager will drive quality standards across the site and take ownership for compliance to the standards supporting the root cause investigation of quality issues.
World class levels of OEE performance across the site will ensure we are performing at our best and your role is to inspire performance from all team members using the principles of manufacturing excellence, ensure all teams adhere to all the standards and continue to improve.
A key part of the role ensuring that high performance is achieved through excellent engagement / coaching / mentoring and ensure poor performance is challenged and managed

The Ideal Candidate
Qualifications:
Degree qualified in relevant subject (food science / quality / engineering) or equivalent level of experience.

Essential:
* Experience of Leading in a challenging quality & customer focused FMCG environment
* Good working knowledge of H S and E legislation and standards
* Demonstrated ability to manage people performance, coaching and development of a multi-disciplined team
* Proactive structured problem evaluation & solving skills.
* Excellent communication and influencing abilities to develop & sustain robust relationships.
* Good financial awareness
* Strong computer literacy
* Demonstrates great leadership to drive results through people performance.
Desirable:
* Formal H&S qualification (IOSH / NEBOSH)
* Food safety / advanced hygiene / HACCP
* Best in class people management practices including performance & change management, attendance management, and resourcing.
* Understanding of commercial implications of production & supply chain management.
* Knowledge of Manufacturing Excellence, packaging, lean methodologies, process control, or engineering techniques
* SAP (or MRP systems), Planned Maintenance, Environmental and Quality systems
