Our client is an Award-Winning Production business with nearly 100 years pedigree. They are innovators within their market sector and their products are known and enjoyed throughout Ireland.
Their high volume, automated production facilities allows them to provide reliable and cost-effective product lines to Irish and UK multiples from their base in Donegal.  They currently have an opening for an ‘NPD & Specification Technologist’ to join their team to fulfil a maternity contract – whose key function will be – To provide effective support to the Technical Management Team. You will be responsible for specification and artwork / label activities and help ensure that compliance is maintained.

Main responsibilities:
o   Generate, update and check Retailer legal specifications on systems and internal specifications for use within the factory.
o   Generate and check artwork and finished printed packaging and labels to ensure compliance with Retailer and legal requirements.
o   Request and check raw material specs and associated documents and maintenance of the Supplier Approved list.
o   Provide support where appropriate within the team and externally to meet the needs of the business and the customer.

Further Tasks:
o   Completing and maintaining Retail specs, internal factory specs and raw material specs from suppliers.
o   Briefing and approving artworks / labels.
o   Liaising with the NPD team to obtain information to ensure artworks and specs are in place for each product launch.
o   Maintaining and updating factory paperwork that is related to the specs where directed.
o   Assisting with customer requests for information internally and externally.
o   Assisting with collating the paperwork for audit traces.

Criteria:
o   You will have experience with retail food specification systems ideally with strong knowledge of recipe generation, food nutrition, and food labelling.
o   You will be a good communicator ready to work well as part of a successful team!
