Position Summary

Main job functions (Note: In addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required and deemed within their capability.)

Reporting to the Group Engineering Manager You will be responsible for the daily function of the maintenance department across the site.

Main Duties

Duties/responsibilities

  • Leadership of the maintenance department of 9 staff, with responsibility to ensure production targets are achieved on a daily basis with minimum down time
  • Development and management of training within the maintenance department
  • Responsibility for the stock level of machine spare parts
  • Ensure all maintenance records are kept up to date
  • Responsibility for ensuring factory meets technical standards set by the business
  • Work effectively with other departments to achieve overall business objectives
  • Implement & support the continuous improvement culture within the business
  • Develop positive working relationships within the engineering department and across departments
  • Lead profit improvement & waste reduction projects within the production environment
  • Planning PMS and equipment overhaul and servicing 

Skills, Qualifications, Competence Level

Experience required

Essential:

  • 3 years+ maintenance management/supervisor experience

Desirable:

  • Experience within the Agri-Food Industry
  • Experience within an FMCG environment
  • Refrigeration experience            

Qualifications required

Essential

  • Must be time served in an engineering discipline             
  • Particular aptitude/skill required

Essential:

  • Ability to take decisions
  • Resourceful and positive
  • Proven ability to positively lead a team to achieve set objectives
  • Ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels throughout the business
  • IT Literate

Desirable:

  • Health & safety at work training 
  • Experience of working to BRC Accreditations and similar
  • Experience of L8 requirements
