Temporary Buyer positions to be based in an innovative Aerospace manufacturer in Portadown which may present permanent options subject to business needs.

Experienced Buyers required for an award-winning and expanding Aerospace business in the Portadown area. My client are an innovative manufacturer who are growing their purchasing department. Initially, these Buyer roles are temporary appointments so you should be available to start at short notice. There may be permanent options available.

As Buyer, you will report to the Purchasing Manager and work in a team of Buyers and Senior Buyers. It will be your job to manage day to day purchasing across a range of direct and indirect categories, expediting orders in time for production. You will source new supply chains for the business ensuring watertight contracts are put in place. As Buyer, you will be expected to negotiate costs and you’ll identify and implement cost reduction initiatives that will improve profitability. Additional information in and around duties available on request.

The Buyer will enjoy a competitive basic salary (dependant on experience). Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 08.30 – 17.30 and Friday 08.30 – 15.00. Overtime is available, paid at time and a half. Other benefits include pension, free parking and generous annual leave entitlement (33 days inclusive of stats after qualifying period).

In order to be considered for this job, you should have a minimum of 3 years Buying, ideally from an aerospace or similar manufacturing background. You should have a good working knowledge of excel and be computer literate. Prior experience of MRP2 and CIPS is preferred but not essential.
