MCS Group is delighted to be representing a leading manufacturing organisation based in Moira, County Down, currently going through a period of growth. Established for over 100 years, this innovative, large employer are currently seeking a HR Officer on permanent basis.

The role

Reporting to HR Manager, the successful HR Officer will support line management to cover a wide range of HR issues within the business, including implementing policies and procedures, employee relations and key projects. The successful candidate will partner with key internal stakeholders to ensure the companies people strategy and business strategy is well aligned.

The HR Officer will assess the business as a whole, ensuring the right people are doing the right roles, identifying top talent early to ensure it is developed through appropriate development programmes. This will ultimately contribute to strong employee engagement, motivating employees to develop internally and progress, reducing staff turnover.

Recruitment & selection will also form a part of the role, with the HR Officer taking full responsibility to ensure the company attracts the best talent into the business, at all levels. This will involve a combination of direct sourcing, as well as liaising with recruitment partners when / if required.

This environment will involve managing volume employee relations issues at times, therefore it is essential the successful candidate has to ability to cope with high volume employee relations, ensuring line managers have the best support when dealing with complex issues.

The successful candidate

The ideal candidate will be degree educated, with extensive HR Generalist experience in a manufacturing environment. It is also essential the successful applicant has exposure to volume employee relations issues, with knowledge of NI legislation.

  • 3 years HR Generalist experience, ideally within FMCG / Manufacturing
  • 3rd level qualification, ideally with a CIPD qualification
  • Proven track record managing end to end recruitment processes
  • ER experience, specifically around performance management
  • Experience of implementing employee engagement strategies
