We will be seeking to provide meaningful and challenging work, which will benefit both you and the organisation. The successful candidate will gain knowledge, understanding and experience of a range of financial and accounting concepts and applications.

The successful candidates will be appointed to a finace team within the Viridian Group (Power NI/ Energia/ Viridian Corporate) and will quickly become an integral member of this team, providing vital support to the department.

Main Duties:

  • Operating cost analysis and budgeting
  • Completion of monthly VAT returns
  • Preparation of the monthly cost centre reports
  • Accounts payable – managing purchase orders and invoices
  • Completion of month end ‘cut off’ processes to include: calculation of accruals and prepayments
  • preparation and posting of journals to SAP
  • control account reconciliations
  • inter-business reconciliations
  • To provide assistance in the preparation of management reports and statutory accounts

Essential Criteria:

  • Degree qualified (minimum 2:1) in a discipline with a high level of financial or numerical content
  • Committed to undertake study towards obtaining a chartered accountancy qualification
  • An understanding of key financial concepts, processes and controls
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines
  • Strong IT skills to include MS Office suite, in particular Excel

Desirable Criteria:

  • Relevant work experience in a Finance related role
  • Working knowledge of double entry bookkeeping
