CNC Machinist (£21,000-£29,000)

The Role:

This role is based within the Die Maintenance Area, this role will involve all duties associated with CNC Machining including:

  • Operate milling machines, lathes and grindersOperate all CNC machines within Die Maintenance and Audit Machine area
  • Programming and set-up of CNC machines
  • Make parts from drawings without instructions
  • Make electrodes and die spares from drawings
  • Finish part to print after machining
  • Use sophisticated measuring instruments
  • Respond to Supervisor as required
  • Carry out training of other employees
  • Understand quality procedures within machining area
  • Practice good housekeeping and safety procedures
  • Ensure compliance to Health and Safety Practice
  • Participate and lead information sharing, team working and Continuous Improvement Programmes
  • Comply with the Company Environmental Policy and requirements of the Environmental Management System, both in normal and emergency situations
  • Other duties as assigned


Essential Criteria:

  • Time-served machinist
  • Experienced in all aspects of Machining
  • Able to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Customer focus
  • Results focus
  • Able to work effectively on own initiative and effectively contribute within a team environment
  • Able to see activities through to completion
  • Available to work shifts


Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience of spark and wire erosion would be advantageous
