Role: Receptionist – Joey Dunlop, Coleraine and Roe Valley Leisure Centre

Pay rate: £7.83 and after 12 time sheets £9.16

Location: Ballymoney, Coleraine, Limavady

Hours: Various – as and when required

Main Purpose of post: To be the initial point of contact for customers using the Leisure Centre ensuring good customer relations by greeting them in person, by telephone or by email in an efficient, polite and courteous manner and to provide an up to date information and administration service. To receipt correct fees and charges for facilities and activities and make accurate bookings for facilities.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Solely responsible for the receipt of the correct fees and charges for services and facilities used and the reconciliation of substantial income at the end of the shift.
  • Responsible for the replenishment of floats and the collection and counting of income from vending machines, ensuring adherence to financial controls and security procedures.
  • To receive and greet the public in person or by telephone in a polite, courteous and efficient manner. To respond to all requests, queries and customer complaints, including tourist information requests and convey information by contact with the appropriate office or officer
  • Attend meetings and training sessions on new systems and procedures being implemented at Reception in order to provide a good customer service
  • Initiation of emergency procedures for the safety of the general public and staff, by immediate response to all alarm systems activated within the Leisure Centre.

Essential Criteria:

  • Possess a minimum of 3 GCSE’S (Grade A-C) or equivalent, which includes English Language and a numerate subject. plus at least one years’ experience of dealing with the general public and handling cash
  • Or Alternatively applicants who do not possess the above qualifications may be considered if they can demonstrate at least 2 years experience as detailed above.

    In addition to the above all applicants must:

  • Posses RSA Stage 11 (Parts 1 and 2) in typing or word processing or equivalent
  • Be able to demonstrate good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks and work on own initiative
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with members of the public in a polite and professional manner
  • Be prepared to work on a shift system which involves evening and weekend working.
  • Desirable Criteria

    • Previous experience of receptionist duties
    • Previous experience of operating a computerised booking/record system
    • Previous experience in operating a telephone switchboard
    • Working Knowledge of Microsoft packages
