Our client is a specialist organisation with a highly experienced team and a provider of digital solutions, specifically designed for a specific industry.  The company exploits opportunities for new technology that will improve service delivery and communication in their sector.  They have developed products and services to assist their clients operate more effectively, utilising cutting edge web and mobile technology, focussing on real-time information capture and delivery, using analytics to understand issues and trends.
Their business depends on cutting edge technology to stay competitive, utilising modern technologies and innovative techniques.
Due to continued success, they now wish to employ a ‘Business Development Manager’ for an immediate start.

Job Purpose:
As Business Development Manager you will be responsible for selling the company’s products in the UK and the Republic of Ireland.  Your primary responsibility will be to drive new business sales across the commercial sector through:
Identification of new opportunities for gaining market share within the UK and Ireland through market knowledge, relationships, frameworks and the MDL network.
Identifying and working with partners and specialists to drive opportunity and revenue generation.
Preparation and delivery of presentations and solution proposals and the active management of the full sales cycle.
Tender preparation and response, including bid management, commercial modelling, and bid strategies engineered for success.
Contract negotiation covering license/hardware sales, consulting services, fixed price application development and managed services contracts.
Achieving or exceeding personal sales targets.
You will work closely with the existing Public Sector team on a co-ordinated approach to maximise success for MDL and drive increased market share across UK Government.

Significant experience in new business sales, preferably to the Private Sector.
BA/BEng/BSc Hons degree preferred with a strong academic record or equivalent.
Experience of successfully selling IT services/solutions (not exclusively software).
Experience of successfully running competitive procurements.
Experience of business development/sales processes, including the use of pilots, pre-sales, demonstrations, etc.
A demonstrable understanding of the application development life cycle from envisioning to solution implementation to managed services.
Strong strategic account planning, reporting and co-ordinating skills, knowing how and when to draw on pre-sales support and other assistance from within the team.
A clear and demonstrable track record of sales.
