Audit Senior

Our client, one of the world’s leading accountancy / consulting firms has a number of requirements for experienced Audit Seniors to join their Audit team. This role will suit candidates who are keen to work in a Big Four practice with significant growth plans.  The successful candidate will be suitably experienced, persuasive, and decisive with attention to detail and excellent communication skills.  This is an exciting opportunity which will provide for a challenging and exciting work environment, interesting and varied projects, structured promotion opportunities and on-going training. The firm’s significant growth plans are largely based in the Northern Ireland market and there for this role will have limited travel outside of Northern Ireland.

As an Audit Senior you will be expected to be in charge of planning, organising and controlling the completion of all aspects of the audit engagement for review by the engagement manager and partner to include:

  • Take responsibility for delivering high quality audit work and the production of excellent working papers and summaries of information

  • Engage directly with clients to organise and complete audit engagement

  • Prepare financial statements and present high quality work papers

  • Close all queries raised by a manager on audit work papers

  • Complete audit files and bring the assignment to completion

  • Work closely with other members of the field teams to identify opportunities for better working practices including use of innovative tools

  • Demonstrate commitment to audit quality

  • Travel to client sites, albeit they are predominately Northern Ireland based

As an Audit Senior you will ideally possess the following skills and experience:

  • An ACA qualification

  • Excellent knowledge of auditing and accounting. You will have experience in audit and some experience in accounts preparation

  • Responsibility for planning client engagements and leading audit teams

  • Initiative and ability to work without supervision

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, in particular, business report writing

  • Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence

  • Sound computer literacy; MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Experience with computer based audit systems advantageous
