Experienced Transport Manager required for permanent job.

Your new company
Our client a Logistics company located in Antrim.

Your new role
Competently manage all aspects of driver and vehicle disposition. This includes all
sub-contracted shipments.
Plan vehicle routes resulting in the most effective use of vehicle and driver resource.
Ensure all drivers comply with EU driver and vehicle eligibility.
Ensure all drivers check their allocated vehicle on a daily basis.
Ensure all drivers comply with EU tachograph rules.
Ensure all tachograph records are retained and managed for inspection.
Ensure all vehicles are maintained to the agreed licence commitment.
Ensure all licence demands are complied with.
Ensure all vehicle maintenance records are retained and managed for inspection.
Ensure support equipment availability including pallet trucks etc.
Ensure all support equipment is maintained and serviced according to requirements.
Ensure all fuel, toll and additional supports are purchased and accounted for.
Ensure all shipments are accounted for at off-load – ex ELC and unload – out to site.
Attend customer meetings and presentations.
Regular reporting to SMT, Directors.
Regular travel may be required as part of this role, particularly to Holland.
Develop strong relationships with sub-contractors and other suppliers.
To ensure all loads are safely and properly secured within the vehicle using the correct restraining equipment.
Ensure all drivers and handling staff practice all activities according to Health and Safety protocols.
Ensure all drivers communicate correctly and regularly with their controlling office.
Liaise with customers in a professional and courteous manner.
Comply with manual handling protocols.
Comply with PPE protocols.

What you’ll need to succeed
Essential
Current International CPC
Calm and mature personality with the ability to work both on own initiative and in a team environment, often under pressure and to strict deadlines.
Experience of technical logistics and planning.
Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload.
Ability to implement problem-solving initiatives.
Possess a high energy level, allowing quick and decisive reactions to situations.
Flexibility regarding working hours and willingness to travel.
High level of professionalism and customer awareness.
