My client is a global diversified technology and industrial leader serving customers in more than 150 countries.
Within the role of Senior Technical Trainer, the successful candidate will report to the Technical Support manager. For the role, my client require an energetic individual who can work closely with engineers and product managers to research, prepare and produce hardware and software documentation including product operation guides, training materials and on-line help.
The position requires solid technical aptitude, excellent writing and editing skills, familiarity with industry standard writing tools and the ability to complete projects with minimal supervision.
The successful candidate will have the responsibility to:
Produce accurate, high quality, well written product documentation in coordination with product subject matter experts and the Technical Publications team
Perform project management tasks related to a set of documentation deliverables
Driving and coordinating a project from beginning to end
Create training curricula and documentation, including multimedia delivery
Ensure documentation is written in a way that aids training delivery
Work with a variety of personalities and teams in a schedule driven environment
Candidates must be willing to travel and should be comfortable delivering material they have created.
How you will do it
Essential Education & Experience:
BA/BS or equivalent combination of education and job experience as a Technical Writer or Senior Technical Writer with demonstrable experience in the required tools.
Technical writing experience, with a lucid and concise writing style
Experience of preparing technical training material
Experience of delivering technical training courses
Skilled at extracting information from product experts and communicating that information in a succinct, straightforward style in technical documentation
Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office, Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe RoboHelp, Corel Paint Shop Pro and HTML.
Ability to listen and communicate effectively with a broad cross-section of co-workers and customers
Desirable Competencies & Skills
Experience with software product documentation with a market-leading software company desirable
Knowledge of at least one foreign language a plus
SQL and networking knowledge would be advantageous
