The services of Hays have been retained by our client, a large Housing Association operating throughout Northern Ireland, to recruit a Scheme Coordinator to work in one of their schemes in Ballymoney on a temporary contract basis for an initial period of 2 months.

Your new company
The services of Hays have been retained by our client, a large Housing Association operating throughout Northern Ireland, to recruit a Scheme Coordinator to work in one of their schemes in Ballymoney on a temporary contract basis for an initial period of 2 months.

Your new role
Working at a residential scheme based in Ballymoney, you will have responsibility for:

Providing prospective tenants with information on the Scheme and its services;
Signing up new tenants and through induction, providing them with a clear understanding of the facilities at the Scheme;
Assessing support needs of tenants and completing and maintaining outcome-focused support plans;
Looking out for signs of need and organising and co-ordinating appropriate care;
Visiting tenants regularly, particularly those who are flat or house-bound;
Liaising with families, medical staff and social workers and housing management staff and care staff and any other appropriate bodies;
Dealing with emergencies and obtaining assistance where appropriate;
Organising fire drills and checking alarm systems in accordance with the Fire Safety Policy;
Encouraging the use of the common amenities by tenants and neighbouring elderly people;
Reporting repair needs of the building to the Services Centre and check work done by contractors;
Supervising cleaning and maintenance assistant staff and carrying out progress and development reviews as required.

This position will involve working 25 hours per week, Monday – Friday, with exact hours of work confirmed upon commencement.

What you’ll need to succeed
To be considered for this position you will possess:

An understanding and awareness of the needs of older people and service provision;
Awareness of safeguarding vulnerable adults;
A minimum of one year’s experience working with older people or other relevant client groups.
