Purchasing Manager role with an established UK and Ireland business who supply products to the construction industry. Great opportunity for a Senior Buyer/Purchasing Manager to drive improvements and bring fresh ideas to an established department.
Grafton Procurement and Supply are exclusively recruiting for a Purchasing Manager for a UK and Ireland company who provide a range of products and service solutions to the construction sector. This is a permanent job to be based at my client’s Lisburn offices and presents a unique opportunity for an experienced Purchasing Manager or Senior Buyer to shape policies and procedures that will impact the bottom line.
As Purchasing Manager, you will report to the General Manager and be responsible for developing and maintaining a cost effective purchasing department for the business. You will liaise with key stakeholders to lead continuous improvement projects and work with the supply base to deliver a robust purchasing strategy that will meet customer requirements and drive the business forward.
As Purchasing Manager, you will manage the entire purchasing process, ensuring that material is ordered on time to meet stock & customer requirement. You will forecast levels of demand and maintain inventory at optimum levels. You will be expected to build and maintain positive relationships with the supply base and source new suppliers as required, monitoring and addressing non conformance issues. As purchasing manager you will negotiate price and contract terms; leading and identifying cost reduction projects. It is expected that you will continually review systems and procedures and identify key areas for improvement in the business.
Salary up to £35000 is available, dependant on experience. Hours of work are Monday to Friday 08.30 – 17.00 and pension is also available. You will be joining a close knit team of 15 and an environment where new ideas and new ways of working are encouraged.
The successful person should be educated to degree level and have a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role. Candidates with no formal experience should hold 5 years relevant experience in a similar role. It is expected also that the successful Purchasing Manager has a solid track record in leading and implementing continuous improvement. Strong negotiation skills and ability to build meaningful & friendly relationships required. Preference will be given to candidates with construction sector experience.
