Are you an innovator of the highest calibre?
Love a challenge and ready to take your skills to the next level?
If so, read on.
With a reputation for challenging the status quo in search of something better, Bloc Blinds have made waves in their industry with their innovative range of products. They are now looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team.
Bloc Blinds came at their industry with a different idea and a different way of thinking. They believe that if you truly want to innovate then you need a blank page and a fresh set of ideas, and it’s this freedom which allows true, ground-breaking change to take place.
Theirs is a different kind of company, one where you’ll be encouraged to do things differently, enabled to be exceptional and create incredible things and where their success and your success are intrinsically tied.
So, if you are ready to be challenged, to innovate from the most basic level to the highest echelons and to change processes, this is the role for you.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you’ll be challenged to lead the way in general concept design and will be the implementer of engineering solutions that minimise time and cost requirements and exceed performance needs.
You’ll have a whole production team behind you and the support of external suppliers as you innovate and develop Bloc Blind’s manufacturing processes and will drive exceptional practices on the factory floor.
Taking the lead in concept generation discussion and projects, you’ll establish blueprints for incredible solutions that add value and can be implemented during the manufacturing process.
And it’s not just concepts that you’ll create, these projects will be pushed further under your guidance into reality, first through feasibility studies to access viability and potential ROI and then through practical means. This will include sourcing parts and getting the ball rolling on the facilitation side of the project.
What’s more, depending on the scope of the project, there may be robots involved. As part of bringing projects to life, you’ll be working with industry experts as your wider team and may be getting involved directly or indirectly with the company’s universal robots regarding automation solutions.
The company’s operations and projects are brave and bold, and they aren’t afraid of pushing boundaries to deliver results. You’ll be the tip of the swords, getting stuck-in and working to deliver results that encapsulate innovation for the day-to-day factory processes.
So, if this the role for you? If you are ready to take on this exceptional role, you will need:
– At least one year’s previous experience in a similar mechanical design role
– Experience of automation and/or robotics
– A sound background in manufacturing processes or a relevant academic qualification in a related discipline
Hands-on, approachable and ambitious, as a Mechanical Design Engineer, you’ll need bags of initiative but also the ability to function and thrive within a team. You’ll be a motivated and driven individual who is comfortable managing your own time and projects and know when and what to prioritise.
