Due to continued expansion we are recruiting for a Management Accountant to join a leading North Co Cavan based business with a presence in Ireland & UK. This is a full time permanent role.

Due to continued expansion we are recruiting for a Management Accountant to join a leading Co Cavan based business with a presence in Ireland & UK. This is a full time permanent role.

Location: Cavan, commutable from Armagh/Fermanagh

Reporting to the CFO you will be responsible for preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting, ensuring procedures and controls relating to financial and information systems are strictly adhered to.

Job Description:

System Management

  • Maintaining and updating systems to ensure they are capable of producing timely information at the required standard enabling the business to operate effectively and efficiently
  • Setting up job stages, relevant codes, accounts, departments and ledgers and communicating system changes
  • Close completed jobs for costs at agreed point and communicate in advance with payroll and project management
  • Ensuring necessary controls in place to confirm procedures adhered to
  • Monthly review of AP controls, ensure correct VAT invoices to correct company, full approvals, no pro forma’s or any other anomalies
  • Review of employee expenses (tolls, fuel, phone, expense claims etc) for reasonableness and ensure full compliance with HMRC and Revenue limits and sufficient BIK to be applied if any excess
  • Promote awareness of all internal company policies, particularly in relation to banking and fraud
  • Ensuring necessary controls in place to confirm procedures adhered to

Financial and Management Accounts

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Profit & Loss review
  • Submission of annual financial statements and relevant documentation to external auditors

Organisation and Management of Accounts Department

  • Responsible for the smooth running of the accounts department in order to achieve maximum efficiency and productivity
  • Ensure employee’s are aware of and carry out all their responsibilities so that all requirements and deadlines are met on a timely basis
  • Delegation and control of assignments to team members
  • Ensure the effective and efficient continuation of all accounts and administration functions especially in cases of absenteeism
  • Training new members of staff

Banking

  • Dual authorisation for ad hoc beneficiaries
  • Creditor payment dual authorisations
  • Weekly summary of reconciled bank balances to be circulated

Budgets

  • Preparation of admin budgets and uploading to system
  • Budget review and variance analysis

Company Insurance Requirements

  • Annual review of requirements and submission of projected figures to brokers and obtaining relevant quotes
  • Maintain an up to date summary of all insurance claims and circulate to management monthly

Other

  • Credit application forms
  • Check all account set up forms have had bank details confirmed externally and check bank details on form to Exchequer
  • Sign off and code invoices for AP
  • Fines & Damages, ensure invoices signed off and coded correctly, ensure spreadsheets kept up to date and circulate monthly
  • Weekly vehicle hire and long term vehicle hire, ensure spreadsheets kept up to date and circulate monthly
  • Review all credit card transactions each month and print for FS
  • Monthly RCT review, checking to ensure all S/C payments made from ROI are returned to Revenue correctly
  • Maintenance of accounts staff holiday calendar

Candidate Profile:

  • Qualified Accountant
  • Previous experience in a Management Accountant role
  • Excellent IT Skills ( Microsoft Excel, Reporting etc )
  • Strong emphasis on teamwork and ability to delegate and oversee work
  • Commercially focused with industry experience
