MCS Group is delighted to be working with a large, well known private sector organisation, currently looking to source a Learning & Development Manager to join their expanding HR team based in Belfast.

The role will involve working with a variety of stakeholders and ensuring they understand and align themselves to the overall training strategy. The planned HR strategy will enable the successful incumbent to enjoy a full remit of Learning and Development activities and will provide a great opportunity to drive and participate in as part of a highly experienced HR team.

There is a particular emphasis on emerging talent, promoting a key focus on attracting the best people, ensuring they have a structured development plan, enabling them to succeed and progress within the business. The Training & Development Manager will also be responsible for analysing training needs at a more senior level, ensuring managers and senior managers have the appropriate training in place to ensure there are strategically pushing the business in a positive direction.

Key responsibilities:

  • Management of the training department, including its design and implementation across the business, up to senior management level
  • Development of company training plan and strategy
  • Training needs analysis, writing work instructions and assessments to end delivery of training for all staff.
  • Ensuring that all employee are adequately trained for their position
  • Developing and maintaining a skills matrix for each member of staff to develop their skills, and provide goals to work towards for motivation and retention
  • Communicating with all staff in order to motivate and develop staff to improve staff retention and business success

The right fit

Suitable candidates will most likely have a relevant degree, be CIPD qualified and have experience working within an organisation where they have worked with senior team members and been accountable for large numbers of employees and their career progression.

  • 5 years + experience in a Training Manager position
  • Experienced in delivering training for a large organisation
  • Ability to communicate and influence at all levels
  • High level of energy and enthusiasm
  • Self-starter with an exceptional ability to identify behavioural and knowledge gaps and develop training to address them
