A market leader in their field, our client operates in over 20 countries worldwide and is a constituent of the FTSE 100 index.

They now have a requirement to appoint a full time and permanent Financial Controller for this particular site. The successful applicant will be working closely with the senior management team and Financial Director.

The role will include but is not limited to financial reporting, compliance validation & finance business partnering that will ensure the Finance function adds value and creates a high-performing business culture across the organisation.

Core Responsibilities:

Responsible for all financial reporting in accordance with Group policies and agreed deadlines;

Responsible for ensuring that all Group compliance requirements are fully and consistently implemented;

Ensure all Financial Processing activities are effectively and efficiently carried out with full responsibility for all compliance, procedural and system control matters;

Build Relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation to develop business acumen, commercial awareness and to act as a strategic business partner;

Direct responsibility for managing the local on-site finance team including administration support;

Manage the preparation of monthly management accounts, financial forecasting and budgeting in accordance with Group policies and agreed deadlines;

Generate and monitor appropriate key performance indicators generating insights and creating an effective link between information and decision making;

Drive performance, margin and accountability improvement in conjunction with other functions while fostering a continuous improvement culture;

Capital Expenditure – Prepare CapEx budgets and responsible for ongoing monitoring of same.

The capacity for management responsibility/performance management;

The ability to work independently as well as work with a wider team/multi-site team in a complex and changing environment;

Effective leadership in a challenging and busy environment including a track record of innovation/improvements;

Experience of working as part of a team with a mixed programme of work, and moving with ease between concurrent projects;

To work with other team members on the training/education (needs, design and delivery) for the team.

A track record of building and maintaining key internal and external relationships in ensuring buy in to plans, implementation and achieving organisational goals;

Team building and management skills including the ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary team members.

Essential Criteria:

Qualified Accountant ACMA/ACA/ACCA or equivalent;

Commitment to continued professional development;

Previous experience working at Financial Controller level for at least 3 – 5 years;

Experience supervising & developing teams;

Strong Leadership skills;

Highly motivated with experience of change management

Desirable Criteria:

Minimum of 5 years PQE;

Experience within manufacturing;

Experience with SAP

Experience using Hyperion, advanced Excel & ERP systems.
