Employing over 1300 people, Seagate’s facility in Springtown is among the most advanced in the world in the design, development and volume manufacturing of recording heads. These are the microscopic devices which write information onto, and read information from, the recording disc inside a computer’s hard drive.

Facilities Shift Technician (Ref: FST/183447)

Reporting to the Technician Manager, this challenging and exciting position gives the opportunity to work at the forefront of technology where you will be responsible for maintaining performance on Facilities equipment and plant. 

The key responsibilities of this factory critical role include:

  • Performing planned preventative maintenance to Facilities equipment and plant
  • Keeping the Facilities equipment and plant within critical process parameters.   
  • Fault finding and repair of unscheduled down events.   
  • Assist with the installation and qualification of new or replacement equipment and plant.                           
  • Assisting engineering on improvement projects to ensure process capability and reliability of Facilities systems.

Working hours will involve a 12 hour rotating shift pattern (4 days working 7.00am to 7pm, 4 days off, 4 nights working 7.00pm to 7.00am).

Applicants must have a minimum of a recognised relevant apprenticeship and at least two years post apprentice experience in maintenance, installation or repair position or a BTEC ONC/D or equivalent in a relevant Science or Engineering discipline combined with at least one years experience in a maintenance, installation or repair position. Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate experience of working in a large complex building. Operation and maintenance of either di ionized water plant or waste water treatment is desirable
