CMB Recruitment has been exclusively retained by a leading, local technology business who specialise in industrial, commercial and residential security, building management systems & access control systems. They currently seek to appoint an experienced Engineering Manager/Service Manager. The successful candidate will lead a team of experienced Engineers within the CCTV, security system and Access Control arenas and will play a pivotal role in successful contract management – maximising revenue streams through thorough customer interaction both office based and at client site.

 

Job Purpose

 

To be responsible for managing the effective delivery of all engineering related functions including; Service & Maintenance Co-ordination and Service & Maintenance Sales/Engineering.

 

Duties

 

  1. Ensure that the department runs smoothly to make sure customer needs and issues are dealt with in a timely manner.
  2. Seek opportunities to generate new business sales from new or existing customers and seek to cross sell.
  3. Provide management information and hold meetings with senior management to review engineering performance on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly basis as required.
  4. Take a longer-term view of work ahead in order to implement effective plans to deliver.
  5. Manage the Engineers to ensure that all maintenance targets and contract requirements are met.
  6. Manage the Service Co-ordinators to ensure that all maintenance targets are met including; service call response times adhered to consistently, maintenance visits completed within timescales.
  7. Ensure the provision of estimates for service jobs.
  8. Ensure the effective allocation of jobs according to skills and competence and journey planning to maximise efficiency and effectiveness.
  9. Ensure the engineers have the relevant training, tools, equipment and information, i.e. fault description, site details and system type to undertake the tasks assigned.

10. Ensure close out of job and that all paperwork and any other relevant information is returned to co-ordinators.

11. Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed in line with legislation, H&S and Quality compliance and company policies and procedures.

12. Oversee the recruitment of new engineering staff and ensure that new employees receive an effective induction with the department.

13. Carry out staff appraisals and support the continuous development of the team.  Ensure staff have clear direction as what needs to be done, how and by when (including the performance standards) and provide regular feedback (positive and constructive) to help maximise a high performing team.

 

 

Criteria

 

  • Time served in Electrical Engineering.
  • Proven experience at Supervisory/Managerial level within a Maintenance AND/OR service provision environment – must have experience in electrical engineering, preferably managing electrical biased engineers.
  • A track record in the installation AND/OR commissioning of CCTV, Access Control or Alarm Systems.
  • Confidence with strong communication skills
  • IT and numerical skills.

 

 

Salary & Benefits

There is an exceptional salary package on offer for this role, in the region of £35,000 per annum plus company vehicle and benefits package.
