The purpose of the driver training instructor is to offer our client base a training solution via our “Briggs Training Academy” to effectively position Briggs Equipment as the only complete solutions provider in the materials handling industry.
Develop and deliver driver forklift, powered access and general plant driver training courses to Briggs customers, engineers and apprentices.
Develop and communicate training courses to customers, working closely with Sales, Truckcare and Service Staff.
Supervise all training courses to maintain safety of all involved and maximise learning, revenue and profit.
Keep all training courses current with latest government safety standards and policies / procedures.
Maintain product knowledge on product responsibilities.
Develop training plan to deliver latest and most up to date training.
Responsible for scheduling and selling training to clients / customers.
Coordinate classroom availability with the appropriate people.
Collate / design appropriate literature for training courses working within budget.
Design, build and maintain appropriate training area / aids.
Develop knowledge evaluation questions to keep the training needs and knowledge evaluation question bank up to date.
Knowledge/ Skills/ Experience:
Ability to work as part of a team and have a desire to promote Briggs Training Academy excellence.
Excellent communicator to internal and external customer groups.
Good levels of numeracy / literacy and PC skills.
Possess a current driving licence.
Demonstrates customer service delivery ethos in previous experience and values.
Solutions based approach to dealing with training.
Trained, tested and certified as an ITSSAR Fork Lift Truck instructor.
Trained, tested and certified to an instructor qualification of the following:
Forklift all categories, Telehandler, rough terrain trucks, pedestrian and MEWPs.
Lifting gears, cranes, overhead cranes, rider and remote and slinging.
Abrasive wheels, tower scaffolds and vehicle banksman, Lorry Loader, Plant
Manual handling and working at height
Work based training assessment
High level organisational skills
Training Delivery knowledge and experience
Product knowledge (forktrucks / Powered Access and General Plant)
Testing, classroom and interviewing skills
