Multiple Buyer roles available with a leading Aerospace manufacturer. My client has an impressive order book and has experienced phenomenal growth resulting in these appointments. Initially temporary, there may be permanent prospects for outstanding performers.
How would you like to become part of an award-winning and expanding Aerospace business? My client, an innovative manufacturer in the aerospace industry are growing their purchasing department and immediately require experienced manufacturing Buyers. These are temporary appointments and you should be available to start at short notice. With an increasing order book and already impressive customer base, there has never been a better time to join this multi-million-pound turnover, rapidly growing manufacturer.
As Buyer, you will report to the purchasing manager and work in a team of Buyers and Senior Buyers. It will be your job to manage day to day purchasing across a range of direct and indirect categories, expediting orders in time for production. You will source new supply chains for the business ensuring watertight contracts are put in place. As Buyer, you will be expected to negotiate costs and you’ll identify and implement cost reduction initiatives that will improve profitability. The Buyer will enjoy a competitive basic salary (dependant on experience). Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 08.30 – 17.30 and Friday 08.30 – 15.00. Overtime is available, paid at time and a half. Other benefits include pension, free parking and generous annual leave entitlement (33 days inclusive of stats after qualifying period).
In order to be considered for this job, you should have a minimum of 3 years buying ideally from an aerospace or similar background. You should have a good working knowledge of excel and be computer literate. Prior experience of MRP2 and CIPS is preferred but not essential.
