Our Belfast based client have a fantastic job opening for an accounts assistant to join their rapidly growing team.

MCS Group is delighted to be recruiting an Accounts Assistant for our well-known client based in Belfast.

This is an exciting time to be joining the business who specialise in Mechanical Engineering taking great pride in their ability to create solutions to meet customer’s needs. You will play a vital role in the company’s growth phase and with having an Investors in People accreditation there is a high priority in staff development.

Accounts Assistant

You will be responsible for the day to day financials mainly returns within a good expanding finance team. We are looking for a motivated candidate looking the next long term move in their career.

Reporting to the Financial Controller your responsibilities are as follows:

  • Performing bank reconciliations daily
  • Responsible for HRMC / EC Sales returns
  • Calculating employee expenses
  • CIS returns
  • Responsible for Payment allocations
  • Performing VAT returns monthly
  • Administering payroll and employee benefits
  • Ad-hoc duties with the Financial Controller


  • Experience in previous payroll / HRMC experience
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment meeting deadlines
  • A self-motivator
  • Previous experience in Sage desirable along with experience in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook
