Projects Management in Engineering, Manufacturing, Construction. Salary 40k+ Depending on experiance

Due to continued success, our client, an Engineering Company with a long established reputation for excellence within the construction sector, are seeking to recruit a Project Manager to join their office in the County Down area.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Project Manager will manage day to day project operations through effective delegation to the engineering team and take ownership of a number of simultaneous projects. This will include securing delivery in order to meet cost, time, quality and health and safety parameters and maintain a professional working relationship with clients. The Project Manager will also manage the production of CAD drawings and subsequent building control approval of all designs as well as liaising with architects, contractors, suppliers, transporters and site managers, and attend site meetings as required to ensure projects are progressing within agreed timelines.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Identify potential or actual sources of design/construction problems and develop and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Ensure compliance throughout all projects with relevant health and safety regulations, environmental policies and general duty of care and prepare risk assessments and method statements for various projects as required.
  • Ensure all raw materials and finished products comply with CE marking standards.

Criteria:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on process planning and scheduling
  • Experience in managing engineering projects from commencement through to conclusion 
  • Proven experience in leading, managing and motivating teams to achieve challenging targets
  • Experience in reading and interpreting financial statements
  • Experience in budget management
  • Experience in the identification and formulation of business strategies for profitable growth
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including superior negotiation, presentation and influencing skills
  • Proven strong analytical and decision making skills
  • Evidence of superior organisational, planning and time management abilities
  • Evidence of a pragmatic approach to problem solving
  • Evidence of innovative capability
  • Proven ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously in order to meet challenging deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve superior results through the effective leadership of others
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings
  • Able to work flexibly as required to ensure business needs are met
  • Current full driving licence
  • Able to travel occasionally as required
